This exciting young string group is our newest performing group. Made up of young string players from the Colourstrings instrumental classes this body of youngster has given some stunning performances already. The focus here is on learning proper orchestral technique from an early age so rehearsals only take place once the music has already been learned.
There is no note learning provided at the rehearsals. Group skills like learning to balance the tone and volume, listening to other voices, matching tonal elements, breathing, pulse, and a range of other orchestral skills are honed in preparation for continual performance opportunities.
Membership is open to young ambitious players. There is no fee but there is an understanding that all rehearsals are mandatory, and failure to prepare music in advance just means that this might not be the group for you.
