This is a partnership with our sister organisation Adventures in Music. The provision of a Sistema program in Galway was conceived in 2021 as a means to reach out to hundreds of children in school settings. The idea is to provide a full musical education as part of their primary education. To this end we offer classes in Music learning adapting the Colourstrings program to teach literacy. This is followed up by instrumental lessons where possible. In selected schools we offer free instruments for children to learn on and weekly group lesson for those children to advance their musical journey. Currently across the range of classes in five schools we cater to over 400 children per week.

All of this has been made possible through the charitable work of the Lifes2Good trust to date, but we are looking to find new continuing patrons who see the value in a creative life for primary school children. Our partner organisation Adventures in Music is a fundraising provider for this purpose and is currently awaiting Charity status to make involvement more attractive for companies and individuals who would like to engage with us.

The Venezuelan model for this type of education is one of the most successful and beautiful programs in the world, and this year we were accepted into the world Sistema family at the congress in Caracas. Meeting these standards and providing free music education is one of the most rewarding things our school has ever done. The rewards in teaching and seeing results in children who would otherwise have not had the possibility of music education is beyond anything we might have hoped for. In the true spirit of the original we are defining new ways of learning and providing the conditions for social change to the children we cater to. By giving new perspective and engaging creative thinking in young people today we are contributing to the world we want to live in tomorrow.

There is an open invitation for all companies and individuals to come and learn more about this extraordinary program.
